Environmental lifecycle
As environmental performance is becoming ever more important, new vehicle programmes have several important targets for environmental product design, like improving the re-use, recyclability and recoverability, reducing substances of concern and increasing fuel efficiency. In order to ensure these goals are met for the environmental life cycle, it is necessary to consider environmental performance at an early stage of the design process:
- Environmental expectations are considered as part of the total product design and
- Environmental design is more effectively integrated in the early stages of product design.

Environmental care
YAZAKI incorporates and follows its “Design for Environment” guideline, that enable the engineer to assess the environmental performance of future products, or to evaluate the impact of proposed design changes on the environment.
Product tracking
YAZAKI is a safe and secure partner for customer spare-part delivery commitments and warranty demand requirements. YAZAKI has a global quality reporting process that provides the customer with quick and accurate response times for fixing issues.
YAZAKI also employs a sophisticated product tracking system which allows us to trace back to the faulty component batch and report all components affected.
Bridging the gap
The supply of components must be secured for our customers for a long-term basis over the entire lifecycle. Detailed requirements are necessary for the long-term supply of components with regard to the terminated production and/or delivery (end of life).
By using our services, YAZAKI's OEM customers are able to successfully handle the mismatch between the short life cycles of the component availability and long life cycle required for the customer product.
Supplying information you need
Suppliers must inform YAZAKI of changes and end of life of sub-components, materials and tools. YAZAKI investigates alternative solutions together with the supplier, in order not to jeopardise end customer delivery.
If the supplier can not fulfill production and delivery duties, all licenses, patents, designs, descriptions of manufacturing processes etc., are then made available for YAZAKI to ensure an uninterrupted supply to our customers
Tooling Storage
After the expiration or termination of the order, YAZAKI keeps tooling in stock and at your direct disposal. Storage duration depends on the requirements of the OEM. Scrapping of tools is only done after written confirmation from the customer to YAZAKI.
