Type of Delivery

Delivery services tailored to your demands

YAZAKI offers diverse delivery services tailored to your needs, delivered from YAZAKI owned facilities, 3PL warehouse and customer in-house facilities. YAZAKI takes control of the complexity in the supply chain until the point of final consumption.

The different delivery types include:

  • JIT
    Just in Time delivery.
  • JIS
Just in Sequence delivery. Includes planning of truck loads, sequential picking, packing and loading per truck.
  • SILS
Supply in line Sequence. Processing of sequential call-offs and picking wiring harnesses controlled by fool-proof scanning system.
  • Modular SILS
Processing of sequential call-offs per module combinations, converting this into YAZAKI part numbers, and picking wiring harnesses controlled by a fool-proof scanning system. The OEM can then focus on production instead of non-core activities such as stock replenishment.

Production Logistics

Lead time reduction through efficient production

Customer orders trigger the production activities in the YAZAKI Pull system, the so-called Kanban system. Kanban / Pull systems are installed through the numerous YAZAKI production sites worldwide, and your benefits from these innovative systems include:

  • Reduced work in progress
  • Reduced overall inventory
  • Reduced cycle time
  • Reduced machine down time
  • Higher productivity

With the Kanban / Pull systems, you can achieve the final assembly of parts within one day after our receipt of your order. We also provide you with customised and sequenced production of wiring harnesses for luxury cars and trucks.

Plant Logistics

Efficiently under complete control

YAZAKI production plants receive customers' demands via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). The innovative Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) system takes the current stock levels found in circulation into account and determines the additional production requirement.

Meanwhile the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system is used to identify the needs of new raw materials. Schedules are then sent to the suppliers via EDI, informing them which products should be available when and in what quantity. This way the raw material is available in time and at the right place for your product.

The YAZAKI production plants are responsible for the complete manufacturing process, ranging from the coordination of suppliers to production planning and the timely delivery of the ordered goods.

Environmentally-related logistics subjects

YAZAKI cares for the environment. We use and employ measures designed to lessen our business impact on the world around us.

Pan-European transport concept

Inbound truck density is increased by combining returnable packaging and inbound components. This results in less transport inbound, and decreased CO2 emissions per purchased value. Standardised processes are thus installed and utilised as a basis for quality.

The Transport company web portal is used to manage both inbound and outbound transport. This web portal functionality includes:

  • Planning purposes
  • Track and trace functionality
  • KPI measurements (YAZAKI, supplier and haulier performance)

Change of transport mode

To reduce CO2 emissions, some transport modes have been changed. Instead of truck shipments for these routes, boat shipping has been implemented from Portugal to Turkey.

Outbound truck density

The truck density on each outbound truck is measured both on the basis of used and waste km. This is then consolidated and reported on a monthly basis to enable improvements to work to capacity.

Packaging density

Studies are performed regularly to increase packaging density. In these studies, the current Standard Pack Sizes (SPS) are compared to theoretical SPS, taking weight and space requirements into account. YAZAKI consequently improves systems by analysing the data collected.

Collapsible packaging

In order to reduce transportation and related CO2 emissions, new foldable packaging has been introduced with a higher packaging density. These foldable pallet boxes (including decanting operations) have a return ratio of 1:4.5.
