The use of body electronics increases in all automotive areas, such as:
- Environment (new fuel consumption regulations)
- Safety (active and passive)
- Information (driver support)
- Comfort (Telematics, Air conditioning)
Closely linked to the implementation of these new systems, electronic modules and related sensors are implemented to control and survey the total vehicle environment.
Components related to Body electronics include not only the ECU connectors, but also the sensors themselves. YAZAKI supplies connection systems such as complex high-pole ECU header systems for Airbag applications, sensors, ECU housings, etc. These are often based upon application-specific requirements and developed together with a module manufacturer, and produced on a cross-OEM basis.

YAZAKI has also developed products for digital, contact-less fuel level sensors. The new inventions achieve a more stable output which provides an exact value to the instrument cluster and the driver about the current tank level.
In the European market, YAZAKI automatic transmission (A/T) shift position sensors are found in A/T's at several OEMs and our fuel level sensors are implemented in the fuel tanks of Toyota vehicles.

In addition to YAZAKI's portfolio of sensors, we supply customer-specific development, such as housings, boxes and complex header connection systems with high pole numbers (up to 100 poles) for Airbag applications.
YAZAKI is one of just a few suppliers who has the capability to supply both the male header as well as the inline female connector, which gives the customers an advantage to be able to purchase the parts as a system.
