Solutions for you - at every level
In addition to traditional junction boxes, fuses and fuse links, YAZAKI offers a wide range of pre-fusing battery devices. These products are based on stamped fuse technology using the diffusion technique.
Battery Fuse Terminals
Battery Fuse Terminal (BFT) is a product family, aiming at a complete protection of the wiring harness connected to the battery. The BFT is mounted directly on the battery pole, reducing the amount of parts and using stamped pre-fuses instead of traditional fuse links. As the BFT is connected directly to the battery, there is no need for a cable between the battery (+)-pole and the BFT which would have a relatively high cross section of the cable, due to the high current. If there is a short circuit and a fuse is not installed, current will flow from the battery until the wire is burnt. The use of YAZAKI Battery Fuse Terminals protects against this eventuality.

The first developments of BFT originate from YAZAKI Japan, but also European developments have been successfully promoted and customized versions can today be found in several European carlines. We stand ready to assist you with your customer-specific development solutions.
Our commitment to a better future
One part of YAZAKI’s fundamental Managment Policy is to ”Contribute to a prosperous future Society through Business focused on the Environment and Security”. Whether the future leads to refined hybrids or vehicles powered by fuel cells, YAZAKI’s high voltage EDS components will be integral to those powertrains.
Being a component producer as well as an EDS supplier for mass production for more than ten years, YAZAKI has committed itself to support future developments within the high voltage and high power area.
Our Powertrain highlights
- High voltage components
All components are developed for the 50V to 600V range. YAZAKI supplies complete assemblies, to ensure the quality of the products.
- Components
All connection systems are sealed and shielded.
- Service plug
Additional protection from injury during maintenance or after a road accident.
- Signal circuit / Interlock
The Interlock circuit will switch off the power during unmating, discharging high voltage cables and protecting terminals from damage.

The eyelet connector provides a reliable connection to the units, that is shielded, vibration resistant and sealed according to IP69k. In addition, the implemented “poka-yoke” feature avoids any mis-mating at the assembly line. Through pins on the interface, the eyelet connection can achieve several codings, required in order to mate to a three phase electric motor.
