Even with the most advanced pre-collision avoidance systems, it is imperative that the driver remains focused on the safety critical information and is not distracted by other superfluous information. Such a focus on these safety critical elements can be enhanced by the use of Virtual Imaging Display (VID) or Head Up Display (HUD) Systems.
YAZAKI has a history of development of VID solutions of over 20 years, which is the key enabler for the image projection for HUD applications. YAZAKI’s technology in virtual imaging displays uses optical mirror technologies, which are inhouse developments, that make the displayed image to be projected in a distance farther than where they actually are, with the objective in mind to avoid focus point adjustment while changing the view. This supports the concentration and allows all time recognition of street, environement and the Display.
