Visitors at the Yazaki Techxpedition space are invited to experience Yazaki’s value-added solutions integrated in a special show car that was “stripped” to the very basics of multi-layer voltage systems and its components. The four highlighted products are:

The Yazaki Poweryzer, a brand-new electro charger with efficient charging capabilities, complies with the international standard IEC 62196-2, and meets all safety requirements for the European market. It offers numerous advantages for the consumer, such as simple and fast loading of up to 32A, as well as selecting a logo print or individual matching color for the charging plug. The ergonomic handling design, together with the low insertion and withdrawal forces, provides reliable and safe charging from single-phase to three-phase charging mode.

The Yazaki Arc Suppression innovation is a reliable, cost effective solid-state hardware solution for arc protection for at-risk critical or expensive components in automotive systems. The arc suppression unit consumes no power until an arc event is detected, and then it reacts in less than 100 microseconds to prevent the arc and any electrical circuit or component damage. This technology is capable and scalable across various DC voltage levels and current loads.

The Yazaki Resonant Current Sensor (RCS) is a new type of current sensor that provides accurate, high resolution electrical current measurements over a wide operating voltage range and changing environmental conditions without the need for compensation circuitry. With RCS technology, measurement gain and offset errors are cancelled, providing accurate current measurement results without complex calibration requirements.

Yazaki’s new 48-Volt bidirectional DC/DC Converter is efficient, durable and lowers an OEM’s overall costs, thus supporting the specialized needs of electric vehicles. Bi-directional DC/DC Converters have the capability of either raising or lowering the voltage depending on the vehicle’s needs. The new Yazaki device cools quickly, and can be scaled to work with a wide range of vehicles.
