Construction Of The Egypt Plant Is About To Start

On November 30, Yazaki EDS Egypt (YEG) signed the contract with the general contractor "Concrete PLUS" for the construction of the new Egyptian plant. Construction work will begin this year. The signing of the contract was preceded by intensive weeks in which the cross-functional YEG team conducted the technical negotiations.

In the same week, Ahmed Bedewy, Managing Director of YEG, and Akinori Saneto, Chairman of YEG, informed the President of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) in Egypt, Hossam Heiba, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, Hiroshi Oka, about the next steps. Both were very pleased with the progress and promised further support for Yazaki and a visit to YEG in the near future.

The aim is to complete and equip the plant in Egypt already in the first half of 2024 so that production can begin in July.
